The Position:

We are looking for a Ste Superintendent with a wide variety of abilities to complement our experienced workforce. This position is responsible for assisting the Construction
Manager with safety,
quality, productivity, and orderly installation of constructionprojects while maintaining the tools, material, and equipment necessary to keepcrews working productively. Applicants should have the ability to:

  • Responsible for managing and monitoring Foremen and crew, assigning specific job tasks, and assisting the Construction Manager with evaluations on knowledge, performance, potential, and work habits.
  • Responsible for maintaining a good attitude and utilizing communication skills to work with other personalities on the project, in the company, and with the client.
  • Must possess a full understanding of the project’s scope of work and contract.
  • Responsible for oversight of all duties of the Foreman.
  • Conducts daily “Tool Box” meeting with Foreman and crew to discuss safety, quality, JSA and HHA if necessary.
  • Responsible for project safety as described in the ISC Safety Manual.
  • Inspects installed work for quality and conformance, and takes corrective action if necessary.
  • Responsible for requisition and control of material for Foreman and crew.
  • Validates daily time for Foreman and crew and forwards to Project Coordinator.
  • Validates daily quantities installed by Foremen and crew for productivity tracking
  • Audits Foremen and crews for safety issues and takes corrective action if necessary. Also, completes and turns in to safety department a minimum of one (1) job audit per week.
  • Develops and maintains positive work environment between Foremen and crews.
  • Identifies potential problems with field installations and proposes solutions.
  • Continuous training of Foremen to ISC’s policies and procedures, as well as skills to advance their career as a Supervisor for ISC.
  • Assists in conducting written evaluations on Foremen and crew members as requested.
  • Responsible for care, custody, and control of ISC owned and 3rd party rental equipment and tools.
  • Responsible for initiating and management of any subcontract if required.
  • Assists in any incident investigation as it relates to your project.
  • Responsible for reconciling quantities reported by Foreman to actual.
  • Responsible for assisting QA/QC and project controls in Work Package development.

Qualifications:

  • Capable of working multiple Foreman and/or multiple crews
  • Capable of running multiple small projects simultaneously in one facility
  • Responsible for the transferring of associates to and from their job site with accurate information.
  • Integrity in dealings with other associates and clients.
  • Ability to work with diverse workforce in the department and company.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and technical translation.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Completes an approved safety course.
  • Strong personal character that exhibits dependability, willingness to work overtime, presentable dress and appearance, willingness to listen and learn, and attention to detail.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years in the Electrical or Instrumentation industry and four (4) years in supervision.
  • Achieves the cut score on the NCCER test and successful completion of the performance verification (Certified ).
  • Ability to pass a post-offer, pre-employment, drug/alcohol test and applicable background checks.
  • Must be trained in Electrical Safe Work Practices, including NFPA 70E Flash Hazard Training.
  • Maintains a current First Aid/CPR certification
  • High ethical standards – unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Must complete NCCER’s Fundamentals of Crew Leadership training within one(1) calendar year
  • Integrity in dealings with other associates and clients
  • Ability to work with other personalities in the department and company.
  • Reasonable ability to read drawings and interpret specifications and contract language.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and technical translation.
