Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Create, coordinate, plan, manage and monitor daily driver schedules/routes/deliveries/hours with the main goal of maximizing route efficiency
  • Track fuel inventory/inventory control
  • Review/reconcile driver logs
  • Handle/coordinate truck issues
  • Must be a self-starter, excellent at working under pressure and solving problems
  • Able to train and coach drivers and managers in Defensive Driving techniques
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and implement a variety of safety programs & goals to promote safe driving and work practice
  • Implement and maintain transportation safety strategies for territory into manageable policies and procedures to move the Company forward to continuous safety improvement
  • Prepare and submit required Federal and State DOT Trucking Registrations, Licensing, & Compliance Reports
  • Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analysis, follow-up, and closure of action items, and leverage learning across organization for all vehicle accidents and or claims
  • Collaborate with internal departments to integrate safety strategies into all aspects of the business

Requirements:

  • Previous Dispatcher Experience Preferred
  • Experience in a Safety Management role Preferred
  • Knowledge of DOT requirements for CMV drivers (FMCSA) Preferred
  • Good Communication/Interpersonal Skills
  • Good Organizational/Prioritization Skills
  • Strong Supervisory Skills
  • Ability to Multi-Task
  • Familiarity With Transportation Management Software/Computer Skills
  • Team Player Who is Dependable/Reliable
  • Pro-Active and Patient
