Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center is Hiring a PROJECT MANAGER CONSTRUCTION Near Front Royal, VA

JOB SUMMARY

Two of the area’s local nonprofits - the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center and Special Love, Inc. are embarking on a series of campus improvement projects on the 4-H Center campus. We are seeking a temporary, part-time project manager with construction experience to plan and supervise a wide range of projects in conjunction with facility leaders. This individual will organize and oversee the construction and installation process, maintain successful communications amongst stakeholders and ensure projects are completed in a timely and effective manner.

The successful candidate must be well-versed in basic construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate project management and communications across different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind, exceptional communication skills and great organizational acumen.

The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and in successful partnership with multiple constituencies.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully collaborate with project leadership
  • Review contracts with external vendors to reach organizational goals
  • Define and recommend needed resources (workforce, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all project operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met
  • Coordinate with campus facilities leadership as needed to achieve goals
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Provide oversight of health and safety standards and report issues

Requirements and skills

  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A collaborator with leadership abilities
  • BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field preferred

Engagement Details

· This is contract position (1099) and is dependent on external funding. Benefits and taxes are the responsibility of the contactor. Contractor will be required to complete and sign an IRS W-9 form and complete a background check. The NOVA 4-H Center will provide a contract agreement to be executed by both parties.

· Contract term will be June – November 2024. No extension of the term is anticipated.

· Contractor is expected to devote at least 20 hours per week to this assignment, a portion of which will require an on-site (NOVA 4-H) presence. Immediate email and cell phone access is required during the contact term.

· Compensation to be determined based on project budget and candidate expertise.

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
