Description

The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the efficient operation of the clinic. This position involves a diverse set of responsibilities, ranging from IV start and administration to patient care, inventory control, and administrative tasks.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Perform IV starts, vitamin therapy administration and monitoring of patient during the infusion. 
  • Provide direct patient care, including rooming patients and recording vital signs. 
  • Administer injections as prescribed. 
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper stock levels. 
  • Handle patient correspondence, including scheduling appointments and addressing inquiries. 
  • Input patient information accurately into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. 
  • Process medication refills as directed by healthcare providers. 
  • Clean and sanitize exam rooms between patient visits. 
  • Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures as needed. 
  • Manage and process lab requisitions and maintain proper lab safety protocols. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

EDUCATION/EXPERTISE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/ETC:

  • Proficient in IV start and administration.
  • Strong organizational and inventory control skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties efficiently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
  • May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move light to medium weight up to twelve (12) exerting up to twelve (12) pounds of force.
