Summary of Position
At Crayons 2 Code, we devote every day to shaping young minds into life-long learners through an immersive SciTech environment in a play-centered learning style.
We are looking for an experienced Teacher who has a passion for working with children. We need teachers who can help guide students through their learning journey, implement our core values, and represent the vision and mission of Crayons 2 Code Playschool.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain familiarity and compliance with current state licensing standards
· Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
· Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
· Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks and meals
· Track children’s progress and report to parents
· Maintain a clean and tidy work area
· Help children reach milestones according to the ages and stages of development
· Collaborate with others to implement lesson plans
· Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills
· Always provide appropriate supervision for children
· Maintain inventory system for classroom materials and supplies
· Facilitate various activities for children including songs, games and storytelling
· Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures
· Implement and maintain mastery of provided curriculum
· Be responsible for up to 18 children at a time while maintaining State Mandated ratios
· Be present for/attend staff meetings and trainings
· Acknowledge and adhere to company wide policies and personnel policies
Compensation
· $11 – 15 Hourly based on experience
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
· Must be able to stand/walk for several hours at a time
Position Qualifications / Skills
· Knowledge of instructional methods and age-appropriate activities
· Desire and ability to work with children with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability toward accomplishing their educational and developmental goals
· Working familiarity with assistive technologies; internet and email systems; and word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software
· Working knowledge of various office and video equipment
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
· Highschool Diploma, or equivalent required
· Recent and/or 2 years teaching experience or other activity in area of primary instruction required
· Teaching credentials not required, but preferred.
