JOB DESCRIPTION

The Landscaper is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labor) in order to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. The landscape laborer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specific job tasks.

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. An education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Qualifications

The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively; ability to work both independently with little supervision and as part of a team; problem-solving capabilities; strong organizational skills; time management skills; ability to work with a schedule/deadlines;

Job Requirements

• Possession of a valid Driver’s License and maintain a good driving record
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following company policy and safety procedures
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
• Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
• Other job duties may be added/removed at any time at the discretion of Natural Landsaping, Inc.
• Operate a vehicle performing legal and defensive driving practices
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
• Represent the company in all business interactions, both in the office and on job sites

Example of Duties

• Installation of synthetic grass
• Construct walkways and patios, walls, fences, decks, posts, etc.
• Hand grading trenching and perform land clearing activities
• Planting plants and trees according to plans
• Intallation of residential irrigation systems
• Installation of low voltage landscape lighting
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects
• Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
• Operate various tools including: chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
• Periodically operate heavy equipment, including skidsteer, excavator, and loader as directed by supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical effort: Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials; Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift; Ability to work in a fast paced environment; Excellent stamina is required; Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis ; Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold ; Flexible working hours

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
