The Family and Community Engagement Coordinator will support efforts to build capacity to foster social and emotional learning support in the home and to connect students and families with available community services by coordinating and delivering several family outreach efforts and educational events throughout each year. The Family Engagement Coordinator will lead and coordinate parent education training modules, provide support for tutors, and expand and accelerate learning activities that fall within community schools. With the Community Schools Coordinator, the FACE Coordinator monitors progress towards community schools goals, develops and manages new partnerships, and connects students and families to community resources. They work with the staff team to elevate and center student voices and build capacity for leadership.

The Family Engagement Coordinator will:

(1) coordinate outreach efforts and educational events that meet the family engagement and education needs of all community schools;

(2) coordinate and deliver evidenced-based family education programming designed to build family members’ capacity to foster social and emotional learning supports in the home and partner in their children's education and healthy youth development;

(3) actively connect students and families with available community services

(4) support the meaningful engagement of stakeholders (students, family members, partners and staff) in the Community Schools Advisory Council and Community Schools progress evaluation process

(5) integrate Aspen’s mission of leadership development and collaborative leadership into all areas of school life.

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Community Development, or a related field
• Two or more years working with diverse populations within a school or nonprofit context.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
