High School Instructional Principal

Location: California School for the Deaf, Fremont CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT
Monthly Salary: $7,534 – $10,393 base salary OF EDUCATION
$200 bilingual pay
$700 recruitment & retention
Salary Range: $101,208 – $135,516 annually
DUTIES
The High School Instructional Principal supports the school’s philosophy, policies, goals, and expected school-
wide learning results; provides daily instructional leadership, supervision, evaluation, and guidance to assigned
teachers, teaching assistants, and clerical staff; evaluates staff performance; Monitors lesson plan development
and standards-based curriculum implementation that incorporates a bilingual teaching approach; assists the
teachers in developing effective assessments and a system for reporting outcomes; Coordinates professional
development activities; schedules parent meetings and coordinates workshops; performs administrative tasks
related to department communications, report cards, achievement testing, Individual Education Plan (IEP)
meetings, instructional material needs, budget, emergency preparation and response activities, student/teacher
schedules, support staff schedules, events, and other projects; Coordinates the daily program activities; and
provides direction in adherence to school and state policies, state education code and federal legislation.
This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing.

Subject to fingerprinting and criminal record clearance by the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of
