Position Description: The JavaScript Developer develops, enhances, and maintains front-end applications.

Minimum/General Experience: 5 years of experience with JavaScript

Minimum Education: Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science or related field

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

• Excellent experience with JavaScript ES6
• Excellent experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular)
• Above average experience working with REST Application Programming Interface (API)
• Above average experience with Git
• Above average experience with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Nightwatch, Jest)
• Above average ability to implement UI/UX requirements using Responsive Frameworks and Design Systems
• Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and accessibility compliance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience supporting a healthcare environment (preferred)
• Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (preferred)

Security: Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust

• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident that has lived in the United States for at least 3 years

• Participates as a member of the development support team
• Designs solutions
• Contributes to design activities
• Develops code independently
• Participates in code reviews and may lead code reviews

• Designs, prepares and executes unit tests
• Provides time / resource estimates for assigned tasks or projects
• Analyzes technical issues
• Collaborates with other internal and external groups
• Provides and reviews needed documentation changes
• Follows VIP OI&T Delivery framework and overarching VA guidance (One-VA Technical Reference Model (TRM)
• Uses GitHub, JIRA, and ServiceNow
