Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Learning Specialist to join our team. As a Learning Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs and strategies to support the learning needs of our students. You will work closely with students, educators, and parents to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Education:
Degree awarded to students by universities or colleges at the completion of an undergraduate, post-high school course of study. Preferred degree in Education, but not required.
Duties:
- Develop and implement curriculum and educational materials tailored to the needs of individual students
- Create lesson plans and instructional materials that align with educational standards
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students in various subjects
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to promote a positive learning environment
- Monitor student performance and provide feedback to students, parents, and educators
- Stay up-to-date with current educational research and best practices in teaching methodologies
Experience:
- Knowledge of or experience with providing educational instruction and support to children and youth with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of special education laws and current trends in special education.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred
- Experience working with individuals with autism
- Proven experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and educating students preferred
- Knowledge and experience with the tools, strategies and techniques used to maintain control of a small group of students or individual students.
- Familiarity with childcare regulations and best practices preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom environment
