SUMMARY
The Production Expediter coordinates cross-functionally to ensure critical shipments are on time, positively impacting delivery metrics and customer experience. The ideal candidate will support backlog execution and aid the Production Control team in expediting priorities, taking ownership of their execution, and communicating risks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Approaches manufacturing disruptions with a creative problem-solving approach and proactively escalates to the appropriate Production Scheduler for impact analysis when work order due dates are at risk.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities to further expedite as necessary (ex., Combining cross-functional tasks, coordinating router adjustments with Production Scheduler, etc.)
- Understands and demonstrates the ability to navigate the facility backlog to identify upcoming shipments needing expedited to maintain confirmed delivery dates or critical programs that require additional focus.
- Supports production floor with indirect labor tasks as necessary (bag and tag, transporting of work orders to next operation, etc.)
- Supports Production Schedulers with basic planning tasks as directed by the Production Control Supervisor when necessary.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal customers.
- Supports production scheduling processes to meet customer delivery requirements and expectations. Supports sales, new product introduction, and other customer demand fulfillment activities.
- Understands terms and conditions, order confirmation, revision and change notice processes, and other processes within the facility affecting production planning activities.
- Proactively pursues the elimination of shortages that impact or may impact production and shipments.
- Follows applicable standard operating procedures to ensure proper backlog execution.
- Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.
- Maintains a clean, organized work environment and adheres to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
- Adheres to all factory safety procedures and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) or more years of progressive experience in manufacturing/supply chain is required.
- Understanding of Amphenol CIT operating procedures and processes preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- APICS/ISM/Supply Chain certification or willingness to complete first module of APICS Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program (or equivalent) within one years of employment is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
JOB SKILLS
- Excellent knowledge of ERP systems (SAP MM and PP module knowledge is preferred).
- Proficient in MS Office and MS Access are beneficial.
- Excellent ability to learn and/or materials management skills, including Planning and Scheduling techniques and methodologies, General Manufacturing knowledge, Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), general knowledge of Engineering Change processes, Inventory Control, Transactional Management, and critical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Understanding and experience in a Lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S-related performance teams.
- Solid organizational interface skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while operating a computer. They frequently use their hands to type, handle objects, and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, reaching at or below shoulder level, and keyboarding.
