Position Summary:The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for various industrial processes and machinery. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of control systems into new or existing equipment. The Controls Engineer must possess strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities to optimize system performance and ensure safety and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to identify basic electrical test with multimeter
- Identity issues and troubleshoot electrical systems
- Assist sustaining engineer with product sample testing
- Collect, analyze, and document test data using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks for seamless integration
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement to enhance productivities and reduce downtime
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as safety codes and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities
- Provide training and technical support to operators, maintenance personnel, and other contributors.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in control engineering
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in control system design, development, and implementation preferred
- Knowledge of PLC’s and MHI’s data collection
- Knowledge of industrial automation technologies, including sensors, actuators, and motor controls.
- Majority of work is conducted in a fermentation production facility and includes frequent exposure to wet, humid, dusty, and noisy conditions
- Work includes lifting (up to 50 lbs.), standing, walking, as well as occasional scooping, kneeling, or crouching
- Mandated use of company-issued uniform and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Adherence to all company safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
