Job Summary

Manage the purchasing and supply activities of goods and services to ensure an adequate supply of material to support company objectives. Negotiate supplier contracts. Maintain relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers to manage inventory levels cost targets delivery expectations and quality performance. Implement appropriate material management methodologies to support manufacturing.

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead the purchasing team according to Tegra Medical principles.
• Create a Tegra Medical Group Purchasing Strategy and leverage activities across the sites.
• Manage the purchasing and supply chain activities of goods and services to ensure an adequate supply of material to support company objectives in a timely manner.
• Oversees raw material inventories & Supply reports within SAP S4/HANA, independently resolves supply chain constraints without customer impact.
• Manages material supply to NPI projects ensuring delivery in accordance with the project plan.
• Manages and develops raw material specifications in collaboration with Engineering resources
• Drive the supplier selection process for the company and participate in supplier reduction programs in coordination with the Commodity Management Team.
• Negotiate and Manage key supplier contracts, including delivery plans and pricing. Drives key supplier development & KPI monitoring.
• Collaborate with Quality regarding supplier quality system approval and with Engineering regarding technical issues and supplier capabilities.
• Manage the relationship with contract manufacturers including inventory levels cost structure delivery schedules and overall quality and delivery performance.
• Develop Make vs. Buy strategies & decision factors for outsourced processes.
• Manage MRO material supply chain and benchmark suppliers.
• Manage the decision-making process and attend OTD meetings to resolve material systems project control issues related to the supply chain and assign root cause for late shipments.
• Support the Lean Sigma strategy for continuous improvement.
• Oversee MRB (Material Review Board).
• Support second source material supply activities
• Support Corporate and Local policies and processes.

Level of Skill, Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Operations Management or a related field
• At least five (5) years of relevant contract medical device and/or medical devices supply chain experience is required.
• C.P.M or CPIM/CIRM Certification and/or Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 13485:2003 is a plus.
• Must have sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning and demand and replenishment processes.
• Must have previous experience with SAP, preferably S4/HANA.
• Must be a change champion (willing to adopt new ideas and changes through Lean Manufacturing Processes).
• A commitment to meeting deadlines and expectations while ensuring overall quality of delivery and a demonstrated ability to build effective business relationships across all levels of business is a must.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks accurately and prioritize effectively.
• Experience in a regulated industry (such as FDA &/or ISO 13485) is preferred.
