Description:
As a Network Engineer, you'll be an integral part of our Global Network Delivery team. Your role will involve managing and deploying network infrastructure across our locations, including airports, cargo facilities, and sales offices. You'll work within the architectural framework to design and engineer network solutions that meet project requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Configuration and Scripting: Write and engineer network device configuration scripts, ensuring proper documentation for change management.
- Change Implementation: Implement network changes during appropriate change windows (after hours).
- Peer Review: Review and provide feedback on change documentation and engineering work from other engineers.
- Performance Optimization: Establish processes to test applications and devices before network deployment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Support: Serve as second-tier support for network operations when needed.
- Business Alignment: Translate business needs into actionable network deliverables.
- Project Management: Manage small internal data network projects.
- Design Expertise: Create detailed network designs (physical and logical) for complex systems, aligning with functional objectives.
- Experience: 6 years in enterprise data network/IT industry, with at least 4 years working on enterprise-scale data network technologies.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications: Industry certifications such as CCNP/CCIE are desired.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise with protocol analyzers and test equipment.
- Familiarity with network tools like CA Spectrum and Wireshark.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco routers, L2/L3 switches, load balancing, QoS, VPN, NAT, VoIP, IPSec, Multicast, DNS services, MPLS networks, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with Spanning-tree protocols (PVST, MSTP, RSTP).
- Exposure to Velocloud/Viptela SDWAN, Aruba, Meraki, Nexus, PaloAlto FWs, and Zscaler equipment is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of public cloud and Azure networking.
- Firewall troubleshooting skills.
- Vulnerability management experience.
- Wi-Fi design understanding and troubleshooting.
- Switch upgrades and refresh activity.
- Soft Skills:
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to lead projects and discussions.
- Proactive approach to maintaining cost-effectiveness.
