Busy Pain Management office in Fort Myers is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. This is a fast paced practice and candidates must be able to multi-task and be highly motivated. We are looking for someone who can work independently and is a self-starter.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring payer denials are being worked on in a timely fashion. They will be monitoring claim statuses, documenting related account activities, researching and working denials/rejections through our Clearinghouse/PM system.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Work accounts receivable as assigned by management
• Follow up on denials in a timely manner
• Demonstrated experience with writing appeals, initiating appeals/follow-up on appeals
• Must be comfortable interacting with insurance representatives
• Excellent organizational, communication & time management skills
• Must have a clear understanding of the insurance collection process
• Ability to solve problems associated with tasks
• Work on special denial/trend projects assigned by management

Specific Knowledge & Skills Required:

• Knowledge of all medical billing, insurance guidelines and appeals process required
• Healthcare Insurance collecting experience minimum 1-year
• Knowledge of computers and Windows-driven software
• Minimum of 1 year experience entering charges and processing claims in a medical
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD10 Codes
• Knowledge of payer EOB descriptions
• Strong attention to detail
