JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Store Manager

Reports To: Retail Operations Manager/Operations Lead

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hourly Wage: $18-25/hr Bonus, Paid Quarterly

What is Elevate?

Elevate is a next-level social lounge, inspired by what makes the kava bar community so unique. We value creating a welcoming environment where individuals from all walks of life can come together to connect, socialize, and enjoy our hand-crafted botanical beverages.

Summary: Responsible for customer care, inventory, scheduling, payroll, reporting, ordering, cash handling, cost control, daily promotions, marketing and entertainment.

Hours/Days: 40-50hr/week - Hours and days fluctuate according to expected business volume.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Responsible for managing store sales, executing sales strategies, and maximizing store growth. Must have the drive to improve store performance and coach/motivate your team to achieve store goals.
  • The store manager is a hands-on position which may require a floor presence during peak volume hours.
  • Duties include recruiting and hiring individuals that exude our core values, and properly onboarding them with all necessary information.
  • Oversee all onboarding and training of new employees, including initial training and follow-up training.
  • Expected to build the employee schedule (utilizing 7Shifts) minimum two weeks in advance, taking availability and time off requests (if approved) into consideration.
  • Audit employee timesheets for discrepancies prior to processing payroll.
  • Maintain and account for all general bar inventory count, considering all retail merchandise, mixers, kegs, cups, etc. A larger scale monthly inventory count will encompass all items.
  • Manage the necessary information related to store performance utilizing Slack to communicate daily highlights and lowlights.
  • Implement action plans in order to drive sales, enhance customer experience, and influence team member growth.
  • Manage the social media accounts and promotions for the store on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Manage all cash sales and transactions, including but not limited to: cash tenders, change tenders, cash deposits, cash reconciliation, etc.
  • Responsible for overseeing the brewing of Kava in-house and is expected to follow brewing instructions with quality and consistency. Store Managers/Team Leads will complete the kava brewing process before opening or when there is another available team member to focus on customer service.

Education and/or Experience

Preferred kava and botanical beverage experience. Excellent communication skills are essential. Must be a team player, customer service oriented, outgoing, friendly, extroverted, motivated and passionate about hospitality and botanical beverages.

Physical activities required on a daily basis will consist of standing and walking for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds. Must be able to work long hours during the season.

The work environment will entail a beverage outlet. While performing the duties of this job the associate will occasionally work in outside weather conditions (special events). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
