Chief Operating Officer

Coastal, Florida's premier concrete restoration and painting company is seeking an experienced and motivated COO to provide leadership for our successful specialty construction business serving both commercial and residential customers. In business for over 30 years, our next COO will champion overall strategic business growth, particularly in the quickly expanding concrete restoration market. Our established and strong reputation garners both new and returning clients in need of exterior and interior painting, concrete restoration, waterproofing and pressure washing.

Position Summary: Reporting to the CEO and working under the direction of the Company’s Board, the Chief Operating Officer is a critical, “number two in command” leader for the Company’s mission, strategy and day-to-day management. The COO’s responsibilities are:

• Provide overall leadership for all operational and strategic aspects of the business.
• Direct the brand management strategy and sales growth for all services and divisions of the company. Supervise the state-wide sales and project management teams based in the metro areas of Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
• Oversight of the development of new business and keen awareness of market trends to position the company as a construction industry leader with differentiated services. New business efforts include, but are not limited to:
• Strategize business growth initiatives for the different services of the company, focusing first on the concrete restoration division.
• Identify strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats affecting EBITDA with attention to cost and margin synergies.
• Lead the company-wide Strategic Planning and identification of Key Performance Indicators that contribute to growth. Responsible for all related planning, measuring and accountability for the attainment of goals and objectives driven by the SP and KPI process.
• Closely manage project forecasting, schedules and cash flow to optimize accelerating business growth.
• In conjunction with divisional leaders, manage supplier relationships, understand and anticipate supply chain issues to reduce costs, improve margins and avoid project timeline interruptions.
• Supervise the company’s Operational Management including Accounting, HR, Payroll, IT, Compliance, and Divisional Leadership.
• Refine and implement the Company’s financial strategies and manage cash flow.
• Coach, mentor and develop employee team for growth and organizational changes.
• Operate with a sense of urgency to grow the business.

Location: This position works onsite in our HQ office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Relocation is required for candidates not already residing within a reasonable commute.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors required; MBA preferred
• Significant experience in providing executive leadership of at least 5-8 years
• Significant background in construction, specifically concrete restoration and painting services
• Background in business development, and growing a company
• Keen understanding of sales and estimating processes
• Advanced skills in financials, planning, projections and KPI responsibility
• Prior experience working with worksite safety regulation & OSHA compliance
• Team oriented leader willing to coach and mentor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Preferred qualification: experience with companies experiencing rapid growth

Compensation and Schedule: This is a full-time, exempt position. The annual base salary is $110,000 to $130,000, plus an incentive performance bonus. A competitive benefits package is included.
