Foundation Director

The John Knox Village is seeking an experienced Foundation Director. This role is tasked to promote and facilitate philanthropy at all levels of John Knox Village of Florida, Inc., to enhance and improve the lifestyle and future well-being of John Knox Village residents

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Educate and support residents in their philanthropic giving as a trusted advisor.
2. Facilitate philanthropic donations, annuities, and bequests from residents and others for the Foundation's various donor-restricted and unrestricted funds.
3. Endeavor to manage and align the goals and objectives of John Knox Village and the JKV Foundation by active participation in Board and leadership meetings, and by frequent consultation with the JKV CEO and the Foundation Board President.
4. Develop and implement marketing and fundraising plans for the Foundation.
5. Encourage and actively facilitate new and potentially additive cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship ideas.
6. Encourage the submission of proposals to fund impact projects, services, or capital from the Foundations' various funds in accordance with the nature and intent of their stated purpose.
7. Oversee the administrative activities of the Foundation including, but not limited to, donor information and acknowledgments, financial records, accounting, required reporting, and supporting staff.
8. Host 1-2 seminars or programs to promote philanthropy for the JKV Foundation through educational programs that show the value to the donor as well as to JKV of gifts to the Foundation.
9. Promote Legacy Society and Village Arts Circle membership.
10. Promote the JKV Foundation Charitable Gift Annuity Program.
11. Manage and oversee the JKV Foundation Benevolence Program.

POSITION SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Technical skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor's degree required. Nonprofit Management degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of donor database(s) - Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge preferred.
• Able to manage and support a volunteer Board of Directors as well as staff of the Foundation.
• Keep current on all issues, legal & otherwise through continuing education on and off campus.

Understand filings required by state & federal law to remain compliant.
