The Safety Director will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in our Mid-Size Utility Construction Company.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Trains, oversees, and directs the Safety Coordinator in daily tasks related to safety operations.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
• compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
• completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
• in the development and implementation of company safety policies and procedures.
• New Hire Orientation.
• operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
• opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• employee training.
• safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
• safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
• corrective measures as needed with guidance from Project Managers and Field Superintendents.
• and investigates accident and incident reports.
• subcontractor Safety performance on assigned projects.
• distributes, and maintains inventory of safety supplies and personal protective equipment.
• toolbox talks and safety alerts.
• other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• knowledge of OSHA 1926
• knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• written and verbal communication skills.
• to conduct training.

• supervisory and leadership skills.
• with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

• in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field desired but not required.
• least three years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment required.
• to 5 years of experience in a leadership role.

Work Location:

Will report to our Forestville, MD location, and will visit work sites throughout MD, DC and VA.

Compensation:

• Commensurate with experience starting at $110,000 per year
