- Plans and develops the execution of audiology and speech/language services provided to individuals.
- analyzes departmental data and prepares reports for administration pertaining to hearing, speech, and language services.
- evaluates the service and makes recommendations to administration based on these evaluations.
- reviews and revises department related policies and procedures; monitors quality assurance indicators.
- provides facility training to staff.
- Preforms audiometric assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- conducts follow-up audiological evaluations.
- conducts speech language screening.
- conducts hearing aide evaluations.
- prepares clinical reports documenting test results.
- Performs hearing aid orientation classes or individual session for individuals in need.
- obtains ear mold impressions or custom ear molds.
- serves as a member of facility committees.
- develops and conducts in-service and pre-service training for the center and community agencies, such as topics and communication, hearing aids and their maintenance, and Telecommunication Devices of the Deaf usage.
- Attends and actively participates in training.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires possession of a master's degree in speech-language pathology or audiology
- requires license to practice speech-language pathology or audiology from the DFPR
- Requires a valid, current PRL with endorsement as a SLP issues by the ISBE
- Requires three years of directly related clinical experience in setting
- PREFERS demonstrated evidence of clinical experience in clinical setting, by certification, CEUs, or advanced clinical coursework with a specialized population.
