Overview :

TheRevenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for coordinating theoverall functions of billing to ensure maximization of cash flowwhile improving patient and other customer relations.

Requiresstrong organizational and business office skills including criticalthinking and the ability to produce and present detailed billingactivityreports.

Theposition supports the companys overall Billing operations byefficiently and effectively providing account data needed for therevenue cycle process and delivering results.

Must have knowledgeof billing operations and procedures insurance contract review andparticipate in quality assurance andcompliance.

Duties :

  • Responsiblefor all aspects of Accounts Receivable encompassing charge entryclaims submissions payment posting accounts receivable followup andreimbursement management
  • Serves asthe practice expert and go to person for all coding and billingprocesses
  • Plans and directs patientinsurance documentation workload coding billing and collections anddata processing to ensure accurate billing and efficient accountcollections
  • Analyze billing andclaims for accuracy and completeness; submit claims to properinsurance entities and follow up on anyissues
  • Collectsand compiles accurate statisticalreports
  • Audits current procedures tomonitor and improve efficiency of billing and collectionsoperations
  • Ensures that theactivities of the billing operations are conducted in a manner thatis consistent with overall departmentprotocol
  • Participates in thedevelopment and implementation of operating policies andprocedures
  • Maintains a workingknowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAAand all healthcareregulations
  • Establish and maintaineffective working relationships with patients andstaff
  • Maintain regular and punctualattendance time off restrictions around each month end period dueto reporting requirements (last week of the month and first threebusiness days of the nextmonth)
  • Perform other duties asneeded
