Nationwide Technical & Executive Search is Hiring a Controls Technician Near Flowery Branch, GA

One will be night shift on a 2-week rotation (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed, Thu)
For this role we are looking for solid manufacturing experience.
Pay range will be in the ~ $38/hr $2.40/hr night shift differential.
The second position will be a floater position. This position will be scheduled to work to fill in for vacancies (vacation coverage, sickness coverage etc). This will take place both on days and nights, and scheduling will occasionally be on short notice. When no coverage is needed, we will fill the schedule in a manner that best meets the needs of both the company and the candidate. We will guarantee (and expect) 40hrs a week.
For this role we are open to early talent with limited experience, but prefer solid manufacturing experience as well.
Pay range for this role will be in the $34-$38/hr night shift differential, based on experience.
Job Purpose/Overview
The Controls Technician is the PCIS systems owner for the production areas and responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses. The PCIS Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining all site equipment. Also including the following:
  • Troubleshoot and repair all equipment
  • Provide proper maintenance to all equipment as per work orders.
  • Execute planned stops, troubleshooting, including execution of corrective action across all relevant lines.
  • Build relationships with all other department, particularly with area Mechanics, Operators, and Leads.
  • Technical expert in the assigned area, including electrical and controls systems, and a thorough understanding of the process.
  • Utilize all tools available such as multimeter, PLC and HMI software, and bench test equipment
Education & Professional Qualification
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2-year Technical Degree/Certificate (Electrical/Electronic/Controls/Automation) or equivalent experience
  • 1 – 2 years Instrumentation & Electrical, Electronics, and Factory Controls & IT experience, including production system troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Possess or can obtain Operational Electrical Qualification Certificate (must be able to work independently on live electrical panels)
  • 1 – 2 years experience in a controls function, working in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-year Technical Degree (Electrical/Electronic/Controls/Automation)
  • 2 - 3 years Instrumentation & Electrical, Electronics, or Factory Controls & IT experience, including production system troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Server Administration, Virtual Infrastructure Administration, & Database Administration knowledge
Key Functional Competencies & Technical Skills
  • In-depth contact with users must be maintained to gather information processing on problems or requirements
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze and test applications for Factory Control systems
  • Good understanding of Rockwell 5000 and Siemens Step 7 Controls Systems environments including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Factory Talk, Step 7, and thin-client technologies
  • Ability to work well with user departments to provide operational support in the use of HMI terminals, including thin client, along with software applications on Control Systems
  • Basic knowledge of databases such as Wonderware automation software
  • Understanding of networks including, but not limited to, Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus, and ProfiNet
  • Ability to troubleshoot programs residing in Siemens, and/or Rockwell Automation PLC Control Systems in the plant
  • Must have a good understanding of interfacing with PLC's, scales, display devices, and other Instrumentation & Electrical related devices
  • In-depth knowledge of installation, programming, and troubleshooting of VFDs, Servo Drives, and sensors.
