Responsibilties Kentucky Medication Aide (KMA)
Administer prescribed medications to patients according to established schedules and protocols.
Record medication administration in patient charts, including the date, time, dosage, and route.
Observe and report any changes in patients' condition, behavior, or adverse reactions to medications.
Prepare medications for administration, including measuring, counting, and organizing doses.
Safely store and secure medications to prevent unauthorized access and maintain their integrity.
Provide information to patients about their medications, potential side effects, and the importance of compliance with medication regimens.
Follow established safety protocols and infection control procedures while handling medications.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, and pharmacists, to ensure accurate and effective medication administration.
Adhere to all state regulations, facility policies, and guidelines related to medication administration.
Qualifications Kentucky Medication Aide (KMA) :
High school diploma or equivalent
Kentucky Medication Aide KMA certificate from the state of Kentucky
1 year experience in LTC preferred
