Type: TribalSalary Range: $23,400 to $28,600 / Per Year Open Period: 10/23/2015 to 12/31/2015 Summary: Counsels and aids individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse problems, such as alcohol, drug abuse, or dependency by performing the duties, knowledge and skills noted below. Duties: 1. Interviews clients, reviews records, and confers with other professionals to evaluate condition of client.2. Formulates program for treatment and rehabilitation of client.3. Counsels clients individually and in group sessions to assist them in overcoming alcohol and drug dependency or abuse.4. Counsels family members to assist family in dealing with and providing support for client, as time and staffing permits and when clinically appropriate.5. Refers client to other support services as needed such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services and employment services. Services as advocate for clients.6. Monitors condition of client to evaluate success of therapy, and adapts treatment asneeded.7. Prepares and maintains reports and case histories.8. Formulates and conducts program lectures to promote prevention of alcohol and drugabuse upon request.9. Participate in the organization Quality Improvement Program through incident reporting and identifying opportunities for improvement. Qualifications: Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC) in the State of Arizona. To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below and representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Bachelor’s degree in social or Behavioral Science preferred and one or more years of previous Substance Abuse Counseling experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully preform the essential duties of the position.
