Job Title: Controls/Automation Engineer
Location: Fernley, NV (Relocation Offered)
Salary: $105,000-135,000
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting automated machinery. This includes:
- Create, implement, and follow safety programs, rules, and procedures. Maintain proactive work habits among all plant personnel to enhance overall safety.
- Implement preventative maintenance to ensure the plant's process servers and network operate reliably.
- Regularly update and back up HMI and PLC programs.
- Assist corporate IT in ensuring plant office computer servers run smoothly.
- Help achieve company production goals by reducing waste and delays.
- Train current employees to maintain competent skills in the maintenance department.
- Integrate new equipment and processes into the existing process network as needed. This can involve creating new PLC programming and integrating HMI screens.
- Maintain proactive working habits to enhance equipment reliability.
- Facilitate communication between departments, including explaining new equipment, controls, and programming changes to production personnel.
- Troubleshoot plant issues and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Help develop and implement company policies. Set a good example for all employees in terms of compliance and enforcement.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (focus in chemical, electrical, or mechanical is preferred)
- 4 years of experience in plant engineering or maintenance in an automated manufacturing environment
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Capability to organize and lead meetings and training sessions
- Proficient in PLC and HMI programming
- Knowledge of software upgrades and license renewals
- Familiarity with Rockwell RS Studio
- t have previous HMI development experience, preferably with GE iFix
- PLC programming experience, ideally with Modicon Control Expert or Unity control systems
- Must be able to read electrical and mechanical drawings
- Must understand IP addressing and Modbus communication protocols
- Competitive Base Salary: $105k - $135k DOE
