Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Tool and Die Maker with extensive experience in operating horizontal milling machines, boring milling machines, and deep hole drilling or gun drilling. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a strong background in precision machining.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain horizontal milling machines and boring milling machines to produce precision components and dies.
- Perform deep hole drilling and gun drilling operations with high accuracy.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure precise machining of parts.
- Measure and examine completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machining processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop and improve machining processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of machining operations and outcomes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining, tool and die making, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker, with significant experience in horizontal milling and boring milling machines.
- Proven expertise in deep hole drilling or gun drilling techniques.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tools.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in machining.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing and operating machinery.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
