Job Title: Associate Financial Advisor

Reports to: President Wealth Management

FLSA Status: Exempt (salary)

Job Summary:

The Associate Financial Advisor, under general supervision uses advanced skills gained through training and experience to provide pro-active support to financial advisors and assist with efficient, quality client service. Follows established procedures to perform routine tasks and receives general guidance and direction to perform other work with substantial variety and complexity requiring limited decision-making responsibility. The Associate Financial Advisor is a junior advisor/support position that provides technical support for all Financial Advisors. Responsibilities include data gathering and analysis, development of financial planning recommendations, implementation and portfolio management, including opening, closing and maintaining customer accounts.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Exhibit a sense of urgency to provide the finest of customer service at all times and in all forms of verbal and written communications.
  • Interacts daily on the phone and in person with prospective and existing clients including handling basic inquiries.
  • Receives orders for the Financial Advisor.
  • Open, transfer, and close customer accounts and maintain appropriate account records.
  • Develop skills to evaluate clients’ financial needs, current holdings and available investment capital to help them identify their investment objectives.
  • Stay current and informed of new investment products and market trends.
  • Organize electronic case files, prepare reports, letters and other correspondence.
  • Research client and security information through the back-office system.
  • Processes and follows up on client documentation for proper maintenance of accounts.
  • Prepares letters, forms, and spreadsheets to assist with servicing existing clients and prospecting for new clients.
  • Creates and maintains records and files.
  • Ensures required client paperwork is current with firm and industry requirements, rules and regulations.
  • Maintain databases and create reports using portfolio software programs.
  • Assists Financial Advisors with marketing efforts including seminars.
  • Receives and processes securities.
  • Participate in training and development to continually improve the ability to provide the best advice and service for clients.
  • Organize and complete special projects as appropriate.
  • Perform all other tasks requested as they relate to the Bank and its functions.

Compliance:

All Team Members are accountable for compliance with all laws, regulations and adherence to established internal controls and procedures when performing their job duties. Each Team Member is expected to be familiar with the legal and regulatory requirements and internal controls affecting his or her job responsibilities. It is the affirmative duty of each Team Member to carry out these responsibilities at all times in a manner that complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and internal controls. All Team Members shall be responsible for communicating upward, problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, or other policy violations or illegal actions. Team Members must participate in required training on pertinent compliance laws and regulations as required by Signature Bank of Arkansas.

All Team Members will be committed to maintaining a high level of compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering, USA PATRIOT Act and Financial Recordkeeping regulations recognizing that all three acts are important tools in federal efforts to combat organized crime, terrorism, and drug trafficking.

Qualifications


Education / Experience/Licenses/Certifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree required; college degree in business field preferred with training courses related to the financial services industry highly desirable.
  • 1-5 years securities industry or related work experience preferred
  • Currently holds (or able to obtain) Series 7, 66, and Arkansas Life & Health Insurance License, or the equivalent of any of the aforementioned.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate courteously and professionally in English (both written and oral) before groups of customers, team members, and management of the Bank.
  • Strong listening, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively relate to all levels of the Bank staff.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Sound reasoning and judgment skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and work well in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to utilize all necessary software applications including Microsoft Office to produce correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to manage and effectively track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
