Summary: M-F Days Full Time Permanent Position
The PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing post-anesthesia care to patients in the recovery room. This includes monitoring patients, providing pain management, and managing complications. The PACU Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of patients after surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients in the recovery room, including monitoring, pain management, and complications management
- Monitor patients' vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition after surgery
- Administer pain medication and other medications as prescribed
- Manage complications, including respiratory distress, nausea and vomiting, and wound infections
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation of patient care
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to coordinate care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- 2 years of experience as an RN, with experience in a PACU setting preferred
- Knowledge of post-anesthesia nursing principles and practices
- Strong assessment and pain management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
