Essential Job Functions:

  • Must be trustworthy and respectful of all customers, doctors office employees and co-workers
  • Greet customers as they enter the store.

  • Impeccable phone skills always…good use of the English language.
  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Pay attention and be aware of people walking in and out of the store at all times

Physical Work

  • Enter patient's information and medication into computer in a timely manner and accurately
  • Processes and submits insurance claims
  • Accurately count, measure and prepare prescriptions
  • Verify that received written prescription from the customer are complete and accurate.
  • Verify that no information has changed with the customer and update computer system if necessary.
  • Quickly answer telephone if pharmacist is unable to answer, responding to questions or requests.
  • Assists customers by answering simple questions, locating items or referring them to the Pharmacist for medication information.
  • Verify prescription information and dosage
  • Accurately prepare medication orders for dispensing by the Pharmacist by retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, and mixing medications. (Only Pharmacist label)
  • Receives and stores incoming supplies, verifies quantities against invoices and verify inventory is correct.
  • Be familiar with store floorpan and locations of OTC drugs
  • Accurately replace stock bottles according to policy and in dated order
  • Check for and pull any outdated items off shelf
  • Informs supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
  • Maintains proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
  • Files prescriptions that have been filled.
  • Make phone calls to patients daily
  • Be able to multi-task as you might be on phone for long periods of time with insurance companies when rejections arise when filling prescription.
  • Be familiar with NOVA home health line of products; online 30 minute course to be completed within 1st month of employment.
  • On occasion, technicians will need to fill in for clerks at the register and understand how to operate the cash register and follow policies to prevent loss.This includes tendering credit/debit/cash/checks.

Cleanliness/Safety

  • Keep pharmacy and drug locations clean, organized and dusted.
  • Maintain clean and organized work stations, pickup/drop-off counters.
  • Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
  • Performs all tasks in a safe manner that is consistent with policies and procedures and state and federal laws
  • Ensures security of pharmacy and medications

Other

  • Follow the appropriate work procedures.
  • Notify pharmacist of customer or employee accidents.
  • Assists the pharmacist with monitoring and increasing patient compliance
  • Assist Pharmacist in all responsibilities except those that require a judgment call by a Pharmacist.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by appropriate management

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
