Registered Nurse (Health Educator)

Position Details:

• Location: Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Unit, Fallon, NV
• Hours: 40hrs per week

Qualifications:

• Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Graduate Diploma in Nursing, or Associate Degree in Nursing from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (No cost to the government).
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience within the last 3 years, planning and implementing women's health educator programs and ambulatory nursing. Proficient with Microsoft Office Systems.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license.

Key Duties:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive health education program.
• Perform ambulatory nursing duties including triage, patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling and health teaching.
• Coordinate patient health care needs with appropriate referrals.
• Promote health maintenance and preventive health initiatives.
• Assist in the planning, organizing, and support of clinical operations.
• Participate in the Put Prevention into Practice (PPIP) Initiative and Organizational improvement plan.
• Liaise with allied health professionals and maintain communication with professional organizations.
• Assist with planning and instructing LPNs, nursing assistants, and ancillary personnel.
• Develop and implement wellness visit protocols and marketing plans for health issues.
• Review and analyze wellness programs and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with the Population Health Program Manager to improve Hedis data.
