Description
NATURE OF WORK: The Nurse Manager is responsible for management of the Crisis Residential Unit, a Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment level of care designed to stabilize the conditions of a person immediately following a crisis episode. This service is intended for persons whose conditions can be stabilized with short term intensive services immediately following a crisis without the need for a hospital setting, and who, given appropriate supportive care, can be maintained in the community. In addition, the Nurse Manager will be responsible for nursing administration throughout the Valley Treatment Center (VTC) agency. These Essential Duties will allow for development of procedures to enhance the medical practice and shall include but not be limited to oversight of medication administration and disposal; infection control and training. This Professional will uphold the agency and program mission/values by offering professional services to employees and clients to ensure optimum service planning and delivery.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing
Current W.V. Registered Nurses License.
Knowledge of nursing protocol, theories, principals and practices of nursing.
One year of psychiatric nursing experience.
One year of previous supervisory experience.
Ability to legally transport clients.
Ability to comply with Client's Rights.
Ability to comply with Valley's and Division departmental safety procedures.
Ability to read, write, understand and speak the English language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of commitment laws.
Knowledge of detox protocols.
Knowledge of Behavioral Health Crisis Services.
Knowledge of community resources for behavioral health problems including mental health, substance use disorders and intellectual/developmental disabilities.
