Buyer is responsible for the acquisition of materials and services via MRP reporting in a high mix, high volume, tier one Japanese owned automotive manufacturing facility. Reports to the Purchasing Manager.
· Purchase stamped and molded raw materials, MRO, bar steel
· Expedite orders to meet delivery needs of equipment.
· Assist to coordinate delivery, installation and runoff of new tooling from parent company.
· Identify and develop new vendor partners.
· Negotiate price and terms with vendor partners.
· Communicate and lead changes in supply and price within Pacific Industries.
· Manage, solve and reduce vendor partner NCs.
· Communicate delays through supply chain
· Improve, evaluate and maintain supplier performance
Skill preferred:
· 1-2 years to purchase or assist to purchase steel, MRO components and like
· Proficient use of Excel and MRP software
· Experience to negotiate terms of delivery and contract pricing
Understanding of importing.
