Smith Arnold Partners is Hiring a Controller Near Fairfield, CT

A new developing private asset lender is looking for a Controller to automate accounting processes, streamline the accounting and operations functions and implement strategic initiatives. This company provides loans ranging from 100k-3mm to residential real estate investors.

The senior controller will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and analyzing accounting ledgers, financial reporting statements, budgeting, compliance and controls, and PnL. You will be the main contact for financial functions and providing financial packages to business owners and stakeholders.

Title: Controller

Location: Fairfield County, CT

Compensation: $110,000 to $140,000 /-

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
  • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting
  • standards on biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Implement consistent GAAP policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies,
  • procedures, and workflows
  • Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate
  • standards and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements to executive management
  • Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Experience in real estate and asset lending
  • Strong use of accounting ERP systems and Excel
  • Big 4 and CPA are preferred
