Exercise Physiologist

Status : Full Time

Job Summary: The exercise physiologist is responsible for establishing baseline data regarding exercise tolerance and progressing the patient through the program with prescribed exercises. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care, provide education and ensure optimal outcomes for patients enrolled in the cardiopulmonary rehab program. Serves as an advocate for the patient and maintains a working liaison between the medical, administrative, and cardiac rehab teams and other departments. Additional duties coordinating with coworkers to maintain equipment and supplies while staying within the operating budget, collaborating to develop departmental policies and procedures, providing relevant and current patient education , and contributing to the continued growth of the cardiac rehab program. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs other related responsibilities as requested. Reports to the Director of the Heart Center. 

Job Qualifications:

•  Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or equivalent required. 
•  Must obtain and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of date of hire.
• ACSM or ASEP certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a cardiac rehab setting preferred
