Duties:
- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features
- Provide recommendations on lens options, frames, and lens coatings based on customers' needs and preferences
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses
- Maintain inventory of eyewear frames and contact lenses
- Keep track of customer prescriptions and medical records
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in opticianry preferred
- Fluent in Spanish
- Proven experience working as an optician or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique in handling eyewear and contact lenses
- Familiarity with senior care practices and understanding of the unique needs of elderly patients
- Retail management experience is a plus, with knowledge of retail math systems
- Proficiency in medical records management and medical billing software, such as Epic
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
