Zap Energy is Hiring a Financial Analyst I Near Everett, WA

Zap Energy is a fast-growing company that is developing a novel technology that will make fusion energy a reality. We’re looking for a motivated and curious Financial Analyst to support the growing team. With your keen eye for detail and exceptional analytical skills, you will support the company’s financial planning functions. You will be a part of a tightly-knit finance and administration team and use your talents to make a positive contribution, learn new skills, and support company growth.
Objectives and Responsibilities
  • Parter with stakeholders to manage budget and financial performance through updates and reporting
  • Support FP&A manager to consolidate and analyze financial results, including development of reporting material for internal leadership and Board of Directors
  • Support annual and long range financial planning cycles
  • Track financial performance of major capital projects
  • Develop and build financial models and reports, to include labor/headcount and non-labor performance
  • Continuously improve and optimize processes, reporting and tools
  • Maintain and update financial systems to ensure alignment with chart of accounts, organizational changes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics
  • 1-5 years relevant professional experience
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (comfortable with vlookup, Pivot tables, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) skills with proven ability to discuss technical information with non-technical audiences
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Data modelling and visualization experience utilizing software such as SQL, PowerBI
  • Experience in a start-up environment
  • Thrives in dynamic and fast-paced organizations
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts and ability to read financial statements

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $80K-120K. Candidates may be considered for other positions at Zap Energy and the actual salary will be based on relevant education, experience, and other qualifications. The range is published in accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act.
Zap Energy is building a low-cost, compact, and scalable fusion energy platform that confines and compresses plasma without the need for expensive and complex magnetic coils. Zap’s sheared-flow-stabilized Z-pinch technology provides compelling fusion economics and requires orders of magnitude less capital than conventional approaches. Zap Energy has approximately 150 team members in multiple facilities near Seattle and is backed by leading financial and strategic investors.
