Basic Function:The Process Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing electrical, electronic, and mechanical devices for improving manufacturing processes, designing and fabricating rule dies utilizing computer software programs, modifications to existing process tooling or machines for product and process improvement. The Process Engineer is also responsible for any other job as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Essential Functions: Assist manufacturing departments in improving new and existing manufacturing processesCoordinate part trials between Engineering, Research and Development, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Quality Assurance Assist Product Management and Quality Assurance in reviewing products for manufacturing feasibility Coordinate with Quality Assurance to resolve customer complaints, both internal and external, which are a result of processing and procedural problems Design and test electrical, electronic, and mechanical devices Utilize computer software programs to aid product design and development Procure items as required Submit new gages to Quality Assurance for initiation of calibration records Consult the Maintenance Supervisor to determine critical spare parts for any new or modified equipment Consult affected team members on any new or modified equipment with regards to possible damage, functionality, and / or necessity Process Engineer metrics: Customer Complaints, TCIR rates, On-Time Delivery, and First Run Capability Prior to installing a replacement for a failed component, verify the part/ model number matches what is being removed, if there is a discrepancy contact the manufacturer for clarification. Do Not add any raw materials while troubleshooting or repairing equipment. Contact the operator or group leader if any materials are needed for the repair.
