Summary: The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. This position will be on a rotating weekend schedule.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for maintaining the organization's buildings, ensuring that they meet legal requirements and health and safety standards.
• Acceptance, Review, and Completion of Work Orders from AppFolio for GHC Assets.
• Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
• Repair drywall, paint doors, and other building fixtures.
• Monitor activities outside the building, such as proper waste disposal and recycling.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify equipment in need of repair.
• Plan repair work using the building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
• Clean and assist with the upkeep of the facilities.
• Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls.
• Assist tenants with reasonable requests upon authorization from Property Manager.
• Follow safe working practices and appropriately use related safety equipment as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications

• One year of relevant work experience or a combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Essential knowledge of or ability to quickly learn the facilities to be maintained.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete and maintain records.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance, or a relevant field is a plus.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing this job’s essential duties, the employee regularly works on the production floor. The work environment requires using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold regularly. Exposure to machine and tool hazards requires care and attention to safety rules and standards.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and lift up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
