General Position Description:

We are looking for a veterinary assistant or technician with at least 1 year of experience and a passion for exceptional care and compassion for our clients and patients. We encourage professional growth and development and a positive attitude.

A successful candidate will have the ability to or will have the opportunity to learn to (skills may vary with assistants vs technician):

• Obtain complete and pertinent client histories
• Restrain pets for ophthalmic examination
• Draw blood/ place IV catheters/ monitor anesthsia if a technician
• Understand veterinary terminology
• Support and anticipate the needs of the veterinarians and clients
• Support and encourage their teammates
• Communicate concisely and clearly
• Educate clients
• Problem solve

Qualifications:

• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a very busy environment
• Knowledge of basic computer software
• Communicates well with clients and medical staff
• Prior experience in a medical or veterinary office setting
• Must be detail oriented
• Has a mature and professional demeanor and dress
• Has a positive and solid work ethic
• Experience with pet patient restraint for examinations
