The Erie County Technical School will accept applications for the following full-time professional union position to begin with the 2024-2025 school year. Please refer to the position details below for specifics about each position.

· Facilities Maintenance Instructor

The starting salary range is roughly $44,000 to $54,000 based on industry experience, teaching experience, and/or level of education. For all positions you must have or be willing to obtain Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 Clearances. Candidates for any of the listed instructor positions without appropriate teaching certification through the PDE must be willing to complete coursework requirements through Indiana University of Pennsylvania to obtain vocational teacher certification.

Other Items to Note:

· Experience working with high school students and teaching in a CTE environment are preferred.

· Interested candidates are highly encouraged to review Pennsylvania’s Occupational Assessment Competency Manual to review the education and certification requirements necessary for this position.

Position Description:

Facilities Maintenance Instructor (FMT) – CIP Code 46.0401

The FMT instructor is responsible for developing and implementing an instructional program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to keep a building functioning, and to serve a variety of structures including commercial and industrial buildings and mobile homes. Includes instruction in the basic maintenance and repair skills required to service building systems, such as air conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical, major appliances, and other mechanical systems.

Position Requirements:

Candidates who meet one of the following two criteria are encouraged to apply:

1. Possess a PDE Vocational Teaching certification in Facility Maintenance Trades.

2. Have a minimum of 4 years of wage-earning industry experience in the facility maintenance trades with a willingness to obtain the Vocational Certification in Education.
