Job Title : Special Education Paraprofessional

Location : Elmwood Park, PA

Job Type : Full-Time

Responsibilities :

• Provide instructional support and assistance to students with special needs
• Assist students with academic tasks, including reading, writing, math, and other subject areas, under the direction of teachers.
• Implement behavior management strategies and support students in developing appropriate social skills.
• Assist with the implementation of accommodations and modifications outlined in students' IEPs.
• Provide support during small group instruction and individualized instruction as needed.
• Assist with classroom organization and preparation of instructional materials.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to ensure the success and inclusion of students with special needs.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Pennsylvania paraprofessional certification and / or at least two years of credit toward a college degree required
• Experience in a school setting preferred
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be willing to commit to Pennsylvania Department of Education credentialing requirements
