Preferred Qualifications: Recent Hospital-based experience License Required: Illinois does not require a cytology license. Just CT (ASCP) certificate is needed. Certificates Required: Bachelor's degree in either Cytotechnology, Biology, or Life Sciences & successful completion of a 12-month Cytotechnology program.
Candidate must be CT (ASCP) certified.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to join our laboratory team. Cytotechnologists are responsible for identifying diagnostic material and referring cases to the pathologists appropriately.
Evaluation and reporting of negative gynecological cases, evaluation, and interpretation of abnormal gynecological, non-gynecological and fine needle aspiration cases.
Serve as a member of the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) team providing on site adequacy evaluation of FNA procedures.
Provide technical advice and perform cyto preparation and processing as needed.
Must maintain records of screening slide counts and other activities.
Maintain Quality Control records where indicated.
Assist in gathering data relevant to quality assurance activities, continuous improvement activities and/or other special projects.

Pay: $32.02 - $48.07 per hour
