Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) support clients in the residential setting by directly implementing behavioral interventions and other supports being used for the treatment of individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Development Disabilities. RBTs are responsible for assisting Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with the implementation of behavior reduction and skill acquisition treatment plans. This individual will assist colleagues and clients with day-to-day activities, monitor client behavior, record and collect data on client progress and communicate effectively and professionally with other support staff and supervisors. RBTs may work directly with clients themselves or they may offer support to others working directly with clients. RBTs demonstrate compassion, empathy and discretion with their work. They have excellent communication and time management skills and are able to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, supervisors and colleagues. RBTs must also maintain Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification and complete activities relevant to his/her specific BHP Level (I [Job ID 805], II [Job ID 806], or III [Job ID 807]).
