JOHNSON CONSULTING LLC is Hiring a Prior Authorization Specialist Near Elkridge, MD
**Overview:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. Candidate must be detail oriented, understand Microsoft excel, and be able to work well under pressure. Candidate must be available full time Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. There are no weekends with this position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical coding, insurance verification, and medical terminology. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced medical office environment.
**Responsibilities:**
- Obtain prior authorizations for medical procedures and services
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding authorization status
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of authorizations and denials
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and managed care guidelines
- Collaborate with the billing department to resolve any authorization-related issues
**Qualifications:**
- Proficiency in medical coding and terminology
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes
- Familiarity with managed care plans and authorization procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Pain Management experience a plus
- Knowledge of Athena and Advanced MD EMRs a plus
