Carpenter Company is Hiring a Trailer Mechanic Near Elkhart, IN
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to be in constant communication with department manager, traffic coordinator and co-workers to coordinate repairs and maintenance around the delivery schedule. Works in a normal maintenance and manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes. Major challenges include working independently on very involved and complex jobs and the timeliness of the job completion to keep down time to a minimum.
Additional Responsibilities Of The Trailer Mechanic Position Will Include
- Coordinate the repair and maintenance of fleet equipment through a daily repair schedule.
- Follow all safety rules when working on equipment.
- Help maintain Value of Order in the Truck Shop.
- Must have basic mechanical experience as well as experience with hand, air and power tools.
- Ability to read, write and do basic math.
- Must be able to work overtime, holidays and be available for call ins.
- Must have experience with basic hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
2 years of mechanical experience preferred.
Good communication and math skills.
Electrical knowledge would be a plus.
Ability to operate a genie boom, and scissor lift.
Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
Must possess a variety of personally owned industrial hand tools.
Carpenter Co. conducts pre-employment drug testing on all applicants that receive and accept a written offer of employment.
