Job Summary:

The Quality Control Technician will ensure proper testing of the production processes and products. They will ensure that all products are in compliance with quality standards prior to being released to the customer. The focus will be on customers’ production runs and overall quality standards to assure compliance to all Quality Agreements and Customer Specific Quality Requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

• Complete Compression testing on ALL Mars cartons and displays.
• Evaluate warp for key customers, i.e., Astra Zeneca, Mars and Team Technologies
• Complete various quality parameters to evaluate new items.
• Inspect incoming raw materials for conformance to CofAs i.e. glue, starch, ink.
• Be present at all critical items runs and aware of the issue.
• Annually validate all plant SOPs
• Identify and record internal quality issues in Quality Database
• Provide support for HACCP program.
• Audit Glass, Ceramic and Brittle Plastic program.
• Direct monthly plant self-inspection
• Review all customer complaints by personally reviewing at machine with specific shift operator and supervisor of manufacture; obtain Root Cause and Corrective Action
• Inspect and observe all Top 10 Customer manufacturing runs.
  • • Being aware of recent concerns and corrective actions
    • Communicate to production supervision.
• Inspect: Presses, Bobsts, Folder gluers and sheet cutters for: creasing, printing and joining standards
• Test customer product and processes throughout the facility.
• Record test results and accurately communicate deviations or issues.
• Coefficient of Friction and Rub testing.
• Quarantine all returned cartons, rework, and document.
• Input data into excel forms and ensure accurate and timely reports are prepared.
• Corrugating testing responsibilities: Heated vessel checks, starch viscosity, gel point readings, ECT, Pin Adhesion, Soak Testing, Moisture Content, and Warp
  • Data recorded in YC system.
• ECT testing pre & post run.
  • Data recorded in YC system.
  • 9 tests daily for ECT from Flexos is mandatory.

Other Functions:

• • Assist with Design and Pre-press when new testing is required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• A minimum of 5 years’ Corrugating industry experience or Quality Control background.
• Proficiency in computer knowledge, including Excel and Word, is helpful.
