Title: EHS Manager
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Location: Elgin, IL
Travel: 30%-45% of local travel between facilities
Salary: $90k-$95k/yr.
Looking for an EHS manager for a leading metal/ steal processing company located in Elgin, IL. This is a great opportunity to work in a good stable company that promotes within!
Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversees environmental compliance (air, wastewater, stormwater permits) including sampling, analysis review, and permit applications.
  • Leads and ensures compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other safety regulations, including training development and delivery.
  • Manage PPE programs and seeks improvement in PPE offerings.
  • Prepares reports, investigates incidents, and manages workers' compensation cases.
  • Maintains emergency response plans, conducts drills, and supports safety culture initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Maintenance for permit compliance and inspections.
  • Conducts audits for confined space and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintains chemical inventory using Velocity EHS/MSDS Online and conducts annual inventories.
  • Facilitates JSA reviews using online tools like QT9.
  • Participates in EHS security oversight (incident response, badging, video surveillance).
  • May issue purchase orders for safety initiatives.
  • Coordinates industrial hygiene exposure surveys (as applicable).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Technology/Engineering or EHS-related field
  • 5 years of experience in progressive safety and environmental compliance roles.
  • Knowledgeable in basic OSHA 29 CFR 1910 et seq regulations and compliance.
  • Experience with core Environmental regulatory areas, such as RCRA, NPDES, CAA and EPCRA.
  • Familiarity with managing Regulatory Agency inspections and visits.
