Company Overview:
West Coast Air Conditioning is a family owned mechanically based general contractor founded in 1962 with an emphasis on building and remodeling K-12 public schools through higher education facilities on the general side and larger complex mechanical and power generation projects on the mechanical side. West Coast Air primarily works as a General Contractor on all mechanical and general construction projects. The General Construction side focuses on K-12 public school modernization and new construction projects in Orange County, Riverside County and San Diego County, West Coast Air’s CSLB License’s include A, B, C-4, C-10, C-20, C-36, C-43, C-51 and ASB. WCA self-performs all HVAC, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Structural Steel, Concrete and all Carpentry trades.
Summary:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager with the constructability review phase through construction of projects including assisting in estimating take offs, budgeting, scheduling, site coordination and field coordination. The Project Engineer will be based out of WCA’s home office, In El Cajon CA, and will be responsible for attending site project meetings. WCA’ goal is to train a Project Engineer that is looking for an opportunity for growth in our field of work and bring them up to a Project Manager position.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee construction projects from start to finish
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project success
Review and interpret project plans, blueprints, and specifications
Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budget
Conduct site visits to inspect construction quality and address any issues or concerns
Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and RFIs
Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide project updates and address any questions or concerns
Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field experience in general construction
Proven experience in project coordination and management within the construction industry
Proficiency in construction management software such as Prolog or ProCore
Familiarity with Bluebeam for reviewing and marking up project documents
Strong blueprint reading skills and ability to interpret schematics
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadline
Experience with DSA K-12 projects
Computer Skills:
Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e: Outlook, Word and Excel)
Familiar with Adobe and Bluebeam
