The Day to Day as a Accounting Associate-Accounts Payable

The Accounting Associate – Accounts Payable role performs a variety of accounting duties according to existing procedures, methods, and systems. The Accounting Associate – Accounts Payable is responsible for processing payables which requires strong mathematical skills, accuracy, and basic knowledge of bookkeeping practices. A typical day will look like:

• Processes accounts payable on a timely basis ensuring approved expenditures are posted to accurate accounts.
• Enter data into accounting systems accurately and timely.
• Scan and index payables.
• Prepare and file use tax return.
• Respond to research queries regarding vendor information/history. Maintain vendor information ensuring accuracy of vendor database records.
• Process mail and print checks weekly as scheduled by supervisor.
• Prepares end-of-month worksheets for accounts reconciled as assigned by supervisor
• Provide backup to other tasks within the Accounting Department as necessary.

To Be Considered, You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of bookkeeping, accounting, or accounts payable experience
• Microsoft Office experience including Word and Excel.

 Pay Range: 

• The typical pay range for this role is: $18.00 - $23.50 hourly
