Embrace Life Inc is Hiring a Family Service Coordinator Near Edwards, IL

Job Description

Embrace Life Inc is looking for a Family Service Coordinator to join our team. The Family Service Coordinator has primary responsibility for planning, organizing, and implementing the Family and Community Partnership service area in partnership with the Migrant Seasonal Head Start Program. They are responsible for helping recruit and enroll children in this program. The Family Service Coordinator develops and implements individualized Family Partnership agreements with parents. Acts as community liaison for Embrace Life, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong Christian moral compass, and a background in social service coordination and experience working with parents and children.

Qualifications

  • Social Service Degree preferred
  • 2 years of high quality experience working with children and families preferred

Responsibilities

  • Organizes, facilitates and conducts meetings and training sessions for staff and parents (completing the Parent Education Training form, after each session).
  • Conducts at least one evening home visits a month to each enrolled family.
  • Assists parents in developing individualized short-and long-term goals and in accomplishing them.
  • Organizes and participates in delegate inter-agency meetings.
  • Participates in community boards, councils, advisory groups, etc., representing the agency.
  • Organizes and facilitates all Parent Committee and Policy Committee meetings according to federal and IMSHSP guidelines, and provides training to parent representatives.
  • Attends state-wide pre-service training; participates in delegate pre-service training and maintains ongoing efforts for professional development.
  • Maintains organized records of activities related to the Family Engagement, including but not limited to, family files.
  • Coordinates efforts to encourage community members and parents as volunteers.
  • Attends all center biweekly staffing, staff and management meetings.
  • Identifies community agencies and resources which provide services to migrant and seasonal families, establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with them.
  • Acts as an advocate for Migrant and Seasonal Head Start families and promotes their ability to advocate for themselves.
  • Ensures the delivery of social services, emergency and non-emergency services, directly or through referrals.
  • Coordinates the development and update of the Community Resources Directory.
  • Responds to children's three-day absences by visiting or calling the parents, according to procedures.
  • Submits accurate, prompt reports as requested by center director or grantee staff.
  • Ensures absolute confidentiality with respect to information records concerning families and children.
  • Performs ongoing recruitment, and documents accurately.
  • Performs other duties, as requested.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
